Football
Arbutus Football is non-competitive and competitive based on age and weight. The league has strict guidelines as to where athletes are placed and it is up to the Athletic Directors to ensure every player is placed on the proper team according to age and weight.
Ages
Non-competitive Football ages 5-6 yrs (age as of 09/01/2024)
Competitive Football ages 7-13 yrs (age as of 08/01/2024)
When
Football season runs from end of July through mid November.

Practices will be at Arbutus Middle School
Games will be a mix of home and away.
Practices
Football will practice on the upper, lower and Shelbourne Road field.
During the summer months (before Baltimore County Schools begin) teams are allowed unlimited practice. A schedule will be determined by each Head Coach and the Athletic Director.
Once school is in session, practices will be reduced to the league maximum six hours per week and will be determined by your child's coach based on field availability.
Games
Arbutus has returned to the new CCYFCL (Carroll County Youth Football and Cheerleading League). Currently there are 10 programs that represent the CCYFCL which will have rotating games throughout the season. A game schedule with locations will be provided in August. Parents can expect up to 1 hour travel time for some field locations
Uniforms and Equipment
Football players will be provided with helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey & pants, game jersey & pants, mouthpiece, and game socks.
**Football players will be required to provide protective cup & cleats.
Extra Costs
All Football players will be required to have a necessary ID in order to be placed on a roster.
CCFL League ID for teams from 5/6 to 10U cost is 2yr for $20 or 1yr for $10.
MD State ID can be used for 11U and older.
Each team will collect money towards game day snacks. Amount TBD per team
